Hunter Industries Incorporated, referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Hunter,” “we,” “us” or “our,” operates Shop.HunterIrrigation.com and its related pages, accounts, checkout features, connected applications, products and services, collectively, the “Services.”

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise process personal information when you:

Hunter uses Shopify to host and support the Services. Shopify and other service providers may process personal information as described below.

If this Privacy Policy conflicts with our Terms of Service regarding the collection, use or disclosure of personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.

Personal information does not include information that has been lawfully made public or information that has been aggregated or deidentified so that it cannot reasonably identify an individual.

Financing Information

Hunter offers financing through Affirm.

If you select Affirm, Affirm may directly collect:

  • Information used to evaluate eligibility or creditworthiness

Affirm acts independently when processing financing applications and administers information under its own privacy notice.

Hunter may receive limited information needed to complete the order, such as financing approval status, transaction status and purchase amount.

The PIA identifies Affirm as an independent controller because it processes identity and financial information for financing and may disclose information to credit bureaus and related service providers.

Device, Browser and Usage Information

We and our service providers may automatically collect:

When you complete an in-person transaction through a connected Shopify Point of Sale system, we may collect:

Shop App discovery, tracking and marketing features are enabled.

Shopify may process:

  • Device identifiers

  • Order tracking information

Shopify may use information across its Shop services as described in Shopify’s privacy notices and Shop settings.

The PIA identifies potential cross-merchant profiling through the Shop network as an area requiring clear disclosure and review of Shop data-sharing settings.

Payment Providers

Shopify, Shop Pay and other payment providers process payments, authentication, fraud checks and refunds.

Hunter does not receive complete payment card information.

Affirm

Affirm independently processes financing applications and may disclose information to credit bureaus, identity verification providers, financial service providers and other recipients described in Affirm’s privacy notice.

Marketing and Communication Providers

We use Shopify Messaging, Klaviyo and Attentive to support:

Customers may contact Hunter to request removal of review content or photographs.

  • Related product suggestions

Selleasy may process:

ShipStation does not receive complete payment card information.

The PIA notes that the precise ShipStation data mapping, retention period and verified security controls still require internal confirmation.

Google and other analytics providers may process Website and device activity to measure use and performance.

Advertising Partners

Google, Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, Microsoft and related partners may process Website activity and identifiers for advertising, measurement and audience services.

We may disclose information within the Hunter corporate group for operational, administrative and legal purposes.

8. Sale, Sharing and Targeted Advertising

Certain state privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing” and “targeted advertising” broadly.

Some disclosures involving advertising cookies, pixels, device identifiers and Website activity may be considered:

This may apply even when Hunter does not receive money in exchange for personal information.

During the preceding 12 months, Hunter may have disclosed the following categories of information to advertising and analytics partners:

These disclosures support advertising, audience creation, retargeting, analytics and conversion measurement.

Hunter does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.

  • Another legally recognized opt-out preference signal

9. Global Privacy Control

Hunter honors qualifying Global Privacy Control signals as required by applicable law.

When a recognized signal is received, Hunter will treat it as a request to opt out of eligible sale, sharing or targeted advertising activities for the applicable browser or device.

If Hunter can associate the browser or device with a customer account, Hunter may also apply the choice to that account where required or technically available.

A browser signal may not apply to another browser, device or account unless the choice can be associated with that browser, device or account.

California guidance states that qualifying GPC signals must be treated as valid opt-out requests by covered businesses.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

Current retention practices include:

  • Order and transaction records may be retained for seven years to support tax, accounting, warranty, fraud prevention and legal obligations
  • OneTrust consent records may be retained for approximately 12 months
  • Marketing subscription and suppression records may be retained for as long as needed to honor communication choices and demonstrate compliance
  • Reviews and associated photographs may be retained while published, until removal is approved or for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain applicable records
  • Account information may be retained while an account remains active and for an appropriate period afterward
  • Security and fraud information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to protect the Services
  • Customer support communications may be retained for operational, quality, dispute and legal purposes

The PIA identifies a seven year retention period for Shopify order records and a 12 month period for OneTrust consent records.

Retention periods for ShipStation, Swym, Judge.me and Selleasy have not been independently confirmed. Until those periods are confirmed, Hunter relies on its contracts, configurations, deletion processes and the applicable provider’s retention practices.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete, deidentify or securely dispose of it.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information.

These measures may include:

  • Access controls
  • Multifactor authentication
  • Encryption in transit
  • Payment security controls
  • Vendor security reviews
  • System monitoring
  • Employee access restrictions
  • Security policies and training

Shopify supports encryption, PCI DSS controls and SOC 2 related security practices. The PIA recommends enabling two-factor authentication for all ecommerce administrator accounts.

No security method is perfect. We cannot guarantee that personal information will always remain secure.

Do not send passwords, complete payment card details or other sensitive information through unsecured communication channels.

You are responsible for protecting your account credentials and notifying Hunter if you suspect unauthorized access.

12. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to personal information
  • Request information about how personal information is collected, used and disclosed
  • Request deletion
  • Request correction
  • Obtain a portable copy of certain information
  • Opt out of sale
  • Opt out of sharing
  • Opt out of targeted advertising

  • Receive equal service and pricing when exercising a privacy right

These rights are not absolute.

We may retain or continue using information when permitted by law, including to:

  • Prevent fraud
  • Exercise or defend legal claims
  • Comply with legal obligations

California consumers may have rights to know, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive information and receive nondiscriminatory treatment.

13. Authorized Agents

Where permitted by law, you may authorize another person to submit a request for you.

Hunter may require:

  • Verification of the agent’s identity
  • Direct confirmation from you
  • Verification of your identity

14. Appeals

If applicable law gives you the right to appeal a privacy request decision, submit an appeal through the same request method.

Include “Privacy Appeal” in the subject line and explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered.

Hunter will respond within the period required by applicable law.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

15. Marketing Choices

Promotional Email

You may unsubscribe from promotional email by selecting the unsubscribe link included in the message.

After unsubscribing, you may continue to receive nonpromotional communications about:

  • Orders
  • Accounts
  • Security
  • Returns
  • Customer service
  • Policy changes

Text Messages

You may opt out of promotional text messages by replying STOP or following another opt-out method described in the message.

Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to promotional text messages is not required as a condition of purchase.

Product Review Requests

Hunter and Judge.me may send review request emails following a purchase.

Regardless of classification, review communications will provide legally required preference or unsubscribe controls.

You may manage eligible advertising activity through:

16. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for a general adult audience and are not directed to children under 13 years of age.

18. Processing Locations

The Website is intended for customers in the United States and ships products only to eligible addresses within the 50 United States.

Hunter, Shopify and other providers may process personal information in other states or countries.

Based on the connected services identified in the PIA, processing may occur in:

  • United States
  • Ireland
  • India
  • Other countries where Shopify or another provider operates

For example, the PIA identifies Judge.me processing in Ireland and the United States and Logbase processing in India.

Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.

Where required, Hunter and its providers may use contractual, technical and organizational safeguards for transferred information.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in:
