Everything was as advertised.

This wireless module for the Hunter X2 controller is phenomenal! Had it installed and online within 30 minutes of delivery. Configuration using the mobile app could not be easier. Having my sprinkler system controllable from anywhere is incredibly convenient. Outstanding job Hunter!!

I am so glad I got this Hydrawise smart Wi-Fi module for my x2 programmable sprinkler. As it do it yourself or senior citizen I was still able to learn how to operate this with the YouTube videos that Hydrawise provides, and it was amazing how it works when I go on a trip I could still check my system and make sure I get enough water in the Arizona sun. It’s a great product.

Works great ! Control your irrigation system and programming and see when it was on via phone app from anywhere in the world ! Change schedules to match water restrictions even if you are not there to change it!

Once you get this configured which is no easy task it works well. I have spent 30 years on it and this was a wildly frustrating experience and it took me multiple attempts and full resets of the device to finally get it to work.One star for install. Four stars for eventual functionality

Easy to install and set up in the app. Well worth it !

Instal was very easy, but it did take a little bit to get it to connect to my WiFi, 3 attempts. After that everything went smooth. this is such a nice way of keeping your watering a little more consistent. It gives you options to not water if you got rain within the last 24 hours or if there’s an 80% chance of rain that day etc…. My only reason for giving 4 stars and not 5 is that once you start a watering cycle you can not stop the whole thing all at once. At least I haven’t figured out how to do it yet. I can stop the current zone, then have to wait the programmed time for the next zone to start, then stop that one too.

All set, worksAfter reading materials and visiting the website I downloaded the APP and used the setup wizard.Used the Bluetooth connection to setup. After trying to download the existing program that took way too long I started over and chose not to download and created a new program.Once connected the app is really easy to use. Getting connected can be a challenge, I think I restarted the process 2 or 3 times.Setup process is not idiot proof, you need to pay attention to details.I like the weather monitoring idea, hope it works.

4.5 stars (rounded up). So far so good. Hardware installation was a breeze. The instructions were clear, with one exception -- the documentation says to use PIN 0000 or 1234. This causes a failure. What the instructions do NOT tell you is the PIN is displayed on the Hunter X2 box display (not the app), and it shows up in this sequence "XX XXXX," including the space, so one is left wondering is it a 2-digit, 4-digit, or 6-digit PIN. I literally tried all five sequences: 0000, 1234, XX, XXXX, and XX XXXX. The last was one went through just fine. One other important process is to verify you have at good Wi-Fi signal before setting. I did so, and other than the PIN fiasco, setup was a breeze.Using the app (particularly the website) is incredibly intuitive and easy to use. I strongly prefer the web/app interfaces over the X2 control station. I recommend this product.

Activation as directed. Inserted WAND module, Hunter wall mounted X2 6-station controller requested I push and hold button on WAND module to get a factory reset. Then I chose to use Bluetooth via my iPhone to connect the module to WIFI. Selected my network, entered the password. Module connected. Chose to make up my own watering schedule and had it operating automatically the next morning. You can download the Hydrawise application before you insert the WAND module and enter the serial number by hand or scan.

It’s been over a year and I still haven’t been able to get it to connect to my WiFi. This is the only device I’ve ever had that I can’t get connected.

The Hunter WAND Smart WiFi Module has been a game changer for managing my irrigation. Within minutes, I had full control of my X2 controller from my phone.The remote scheduling features are fantastic. I can adjust watering times and zones without ever going to the controller, and the app’s intuitive interface makes it simple even for non-techy users. I especially love how I can tweak schedules based on changing weather patterns.Since installing the WAND module, I’ve saved time and water — it’s smart, responsive, and reliable. Overall this was a great upgrade to my sprinkler system and definitely worth it if you want convenient remote control and smarter irrigation scheduling!

Great addition, makes it far more useable

It’s really nice… when it works. The app is easy to use, but connecting the module to Wi-Fi was the most annoying task ever. It seems like a bug, because I have two friends—one set it up in 5 minutes, while for me it took an hour. It kept failing or not finding the SSID. Important to mention, I’m an IT guy, so I’m supposed to know what I’m doing!Anyway, once it’s connected, it works fine. The only issue is that it randomly loses the Wi-Fi connection and goes offline for a while.. you just have to wait for it to reconnect. And it’s definitely not my Wi-Fi; my solar system is in the same spot and works perfectly.Overall, I still think it’s worth having, but it could be a little better.

Had difficulty setting up, as there seemed to be an existing watering program, in the Wand sent to me as ,I thought new. Had tried numerous times to connect but had to erase prior info. Unit is fine now, but appears to have previous owner.

I had a heck of a time hooking this up, returned it, then bought a replacement thinking that it was defective. I had the same issue with the second one even after I installed a Eero extender in the garage. I did some additional research and discovered I could suspend the 5 thx side of mybEero WiFi leaving only the 2.4 side active. That did the trick. Got it paired and working. The features are great. It has dropped connection twice. I then suspend the 5 ghrz side of my wifi for a bit and the hydro reattaches itself without further intervention. I would have rated it a five if it was easier to pair and didn't drop it's pairing for some reason. My Eero extender is about 15 clear feet any with strong signal.

The first thing you get when you start using this add-on is that the tortuous programming of the X2 with knobs and buttons and seven-segment displays is replaced with a modern application. You can use it via an app or a web browser, and it brings management of the irrigation controller into the 21st century.The second thing you get is enhanced capabilities to automatically modify your watering based on conditions such as rain or hot weather. All in all, it's a huge upgrade. It's not perfect, but it's awfully good.Complaints? Yeah, I have a couple. First, setup is poorly explained. For all my experience with smart home devices, it took me a fair amount of stumbling and bumbling to get it up on my 2.4 ghz wifi.Second, why is this a $100 accessory and not built in? The cost of the hardware is negligible these days. It should be base functionality.All that said, it's great to finally have a modern user interface on an irrigation controller.

This is a 5 star product once it’s installed. Don’t buy if you’re not good with tech stuff. Hire a contractor who has installed before. I’m a contractor that has installed over a dozen and I can’t tell you how much I’ve struggled trying to connect the timer to WiFi through the app. “Timer not responding”, “WiFi not strong enough”, “Bluetooth not available” are the biggest head aches. You’ll have to use an extender if the WiFi isn’t strong enough and that’s another process. I absolutely love this app once it’s installed but Hunter needs to come up with a better software to make the set up easier. I’ve wasted hours in the heat troubleshooting and fighting the WiFi set up. Hunter would have less returns if they had better software/hardware that connects more easily. Idk call Apple for some advice. I wouldn’t mind paying a couple extra dollars for easier installation as a home owner and/or contractor.

I didn’t have any issues connecting the wand to Wi-Fi initially using the SAP method, but during the first 12 hours, it would disconnect every 1.5 to 2 hours. To get it back online, I had to unplug and reinstall the wand—defeating the purpose of remote access through the app.The Wi-Fi signal in my garage measured -43 dBm, so signal strength didn’t seem to be the problem. The next day, I accessed my AT&T router’s admin settings and made the following changes based on recommendations from Hunter’s website:Changed the 2.4 GHz band mode from B/G to B/G/NSet the 2.4 GHz channel from Auto to Channel 6Assigned the wand a fixed IP address (not sure this helped, but I did it anyway)Both my 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands use the same SSID, and I did not rename the 2.4 GHz band. The wand correctly connected to the 2.4 GHz band, and it appears band steering worked properly.Since making those changes, the wand has stayed connected without any drops, and the Hydrawise app has worked as expected. It’s user-friendly for setting up programs, manual watering, and adjusting settings quickly. I haven’t yet tested the smart features like weather integration.It’s only been a week, but so far so good after changes. I’ll update this review if anything changes.

Installation was a little tricky. It logs itself out of the system so if you go to run a program you may have to run the setup again and again. It actually works the hindrance is the actual app from the company. It sucks. Unfortunately it works better than the actual sprinkler system on the wall. Weird.

Ease of installation:I would say it's easy but you have to make sure you're not in the "off" position on the X2 interface (hardware). I was the same in having trouble setting it up until I set it to "run" position. Then and only then did the Bluetooth setup work.Wifi connectivity:Seems legit so far, and I've used it for over a week with no problems. I login regularly to do adjustments or update my zones accordingly with easy on my phone.Overall, seems ok and I would rate it higher if the install steps would say "be sure to have your hardware on the run position" before trying to set it up. Easy to get flustered in the heat ;)

I did have some difficulty getting it connected to the internet and I don’t believe it had anything to do with it being a Apple or Android device. It’s setup doesn’t seem to be communicating within itself. I had to go through the setup wizard several times because of it freezing while connecting. But once you’re connected it’s a pretty neat feature to have when you’re not home or just wanna be lazy.
